From August 6th to August 26th, the historic Cameo Cinema will be hosting one or two free performances a day as part of Cameo Live. Boasting some of the most comfortable seats in Edinburgh, and Edinburgh’s oldest screen from 1914, this beloved Edinburgh landmark is throwing open its doors to a host of experimental performance companies, curated in consultation with Deborah Pearson of Forest Fringe. Participating artists are Chris Thorpe, Julie Rose Bower, mala voadora, Forest Fringe, Mamoru Iriguchi, and Deborah Pearson.
The Cameo is one of Quentin Tarantino’s favourite cinemas, and was featured in Sylvain Chomet’s 2010 animated film “The Illusionist.”
The Cameo Cinema is located at 38 Home Street, Edinburgh, EH3 9LZ. It is a seven minute walk from the Traverse Theatre and across the street from EIF venue the King’s Theatre in Tollcross. It is also a five minute walk from the Forest Café’s new location.
